Features FAQ Changelog Privacy Permissions

Pinterest Studio uses the minimum permissions necessary to provide its features. Each permission serves a specific purpose related to customizing Pinterest's appearance. No permission grants access to personal data, browsing history, or other websites.

activeTab

Permission

Allows the extension to interact with the currently open Pinterest tab and apply user-selected customizations. This permission is temporary and only activates when you click the extension icon. It does not grant access to tabs until you interact with the extension.

storage

Permission

Enables saving your themes, color settings, typography preferences, layout choices, and extension configuration directly in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage APIs. All data stays on your device and is never sent to any server.

sidePanel

Permission

Provides the customization dashboard that opens in Chrome's side panel while you browse Pinterest. This allows you to adjust themes, colors, fonts, and settings without leaving the Pinterest page.

scripting

Permission

Allows the extension to inject styling and customization logic into Pinterest pages. This is how themes, ad hiding, typography changes, and layout adjustments are applied. No scripts are injected on non-Pinterest websites.

host_permissions

Permission

https://*.pinterest.com/* and international Pinterest domains.

Restricts the extension's access exclusively to Pinterest domains. The extension cannot and does not run on any other websites. This ensures your browsing on other sites remains completely untouched.
